Novel Home Care is committed to making our website usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. We want every family and every member of our team to be able to find information and contact us easily.
Our standard
We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible, and they are widely used to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the New York State and New York City Human Rights Laws.
What we have done
- Clear page structure with headings and landmarks for screen readers
- A “Skip to main content” link and full keyboard navigation with a visible focus outline
- Text descriptions for meaningful images
- Color contrast chosen to meet WCAG AA, with readable text sizes that can be enlarged up to 200%
- Form fields with labels and clear messages
- Pages that work on phones, tablets and computers, and respect reduced-motion settings
- Videos load only when you choose to play them
Known limitations
Some documents on our Informational Links page are PDF notices published by government agencies. They may not be fully accessible. If you need any document in another format, such as large print, plain text or read aloud by phone, contact us and we will provide it.
